“...if a night” is a journey, a whole night’s adventure....a night of dreams. A little world in a 4 hours sleep. At 02.00 a.m. we fall asleep and open our eyes again only at dawn.
“...if a night”’s first steps date back to 2010 and it becomes a reality by spring in 2012. The album is a mixture of memories, scents and colours fading away in the morning. Everything begins in a night in Bologna, in a labirynth made of abandoned bikes. Between cocktails and boring tv shows, we lose ourselves in a wistful and weird goodnight story.
“...if a night” is a mix of balanced sounds and rythms, a combination of different genres in a trip-hop mood. Everything is tied together by charming melodies and a powerful voice.
The album opens with the darkest track, slightly inspired by Portishead. “Uptown bike”, the second track and first "single", has a more classic and rhythmic structure. “In the Moscow” , the second single of the album, is developed from the bass-drum line and a brilliant use of synths. “Television” has a free composition ; “Bad bed” is a little melodic treasure; “Colors” has the mood of Massive Attack’s work, but adds, transforms and changes it. “Almost in trouble” is a retro tale with a hint of jazz sound; “Zabriskie’s bench”, thanks to the use of pads, is the most oneiric track in the album, completely different from the ending one, “Krueger” the drum'n'bass track.
